Ireland, My Favorite Place
Ireland. I studied abroad in Italy for a semester my sophomore year of college, and I got to travel a lot on the weekends. My favorite trip was going to Ireland over Thanksgiving break. My friends and I stayed in Dublin, which we explored at length the first day of our stay. Our hostel was in the middle of the city, but it was difficult finding our way around at first.

On Thanksgiving day, we took a bus trip from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher. Unfortunately, it was a bit foggy that day, but our bus driver was a wonderful story teller and tour guide, so he very much made up for the weather. Below is a picture of me standing on a cliff in somewhere near the Cliffs of Moher, where there was better visibility.

I heard so many wonderful stories and saw so many interesting things during my three day stay there, and I still have many things on my bucket list to do when I visit again sometime in the future. I like Ireland because I felt much more at home there than I did in the other places that I traveled to, which was nice after four months away from home.
What a gorgeous picture of Dublin, Kathleen! And of course the Irish mythological and folkloric tradition is one of the richest in the world; maybe you will want to do an Irish project for class! There are so many wonderful resources for Irish stories online: Freebookapalooza: Ireland

Hello! What an interesting Thanksgiving that must have been. I always am so excited to be at home for the holidays, but maybe I'll have to trade one for some studying abroad. Your pictures are beautiful!! I want so badly to travel that part of the world more and your pictures and postings about Ireland give me a major sense of Wanderlust to really get going and explore so many different places!
